This training is generally meant for MCA and BTech students. It is now well known as

Six Week Industrial Training
This training is for a period of six weeks or about 1-1/2 months duration. This type of training is coincides with summer vacation that follows the Jan-Jun semester. It is relatively short, so it is of a quicker duration, where a student is asked to join an IT company and make a training report.
Is Project Compulsory ?
A project is not compulsory. But it is generally recommended that students should spend time on writing a real project, or atleast contributing to it. Alternatively, it is possible to carry out a study on some topic of interest and present a report. It is akin to a PHD thesis.
