The DOTNET Garbage Collector is responsible for reclaiming un-referenced heap memory and compressing it from time to time. MSDN documentation says that it is not possible to predict the exact time at which the garbage collector will run. In fact, it may not run at all, if your program is too short, for example. However, it is possible to place a request for running it immediately. It is a request, but it is generally called 'forcing the garbage collector to run immediately'. You can place this request by calling the static function 'Collect' of the FCl class called GC
